Numerical tests assess how well you handle and use numerical information to manage common calculation operations under strict time conditions. It includes very basic operations, like addition, percentages, ratios, but don’t get fooled, the questions are usually very tricky! You have to be both quick and precise. Advanced level tests (AD) require you to analyze even more complex data (test your accuracy) or include more calculation steps (test your speed). The good news is they always use only the basic math operations!
Verbal reasoning tests evaluate your verbal logic, how well you understand a written material, analyse and synthesize the information provided in a very short time. Though the text might be in your mother tongue (or second language) and you understand every single word, but don’t expect to get the best scores for the first time! There are various methods which you need to learn and practice a lot to be successful on this test. Most often you need to read fast and at the same time watch for nuances of expressions and subtle differences.
Abstract reasoning tests measure your logical problem solving ability to quickly recognize patterns, relationships and rules in a sequence of graphic figures. You have to make appropriate conclusions and deduction from observing and analysing the sequence. Those who are good at abstract reasoning are generally good at seeing the big picture, thinking strategically and solving work-related problems. This is what EPSO and other recruiters are looking for! Usually 2-4 rules are assigned to the pattern sequence and your job is to recognize them in only 1 minute!
